We wish to appoint a dedicated, creative, inspiring and energetic professional to support the leadership of the English faculty as Second in Department from 1 September 2022. The successful applicant will work with the Faculty Leader to share expertise and improve student outcomes in English. Applicants will have the knowledge and skills to further develop, lead and implement strategies to help our students enjoy their learning, make progress and achieve.

This post would be ideal for an outstanding practitioner, passionate and informed about the best classroom practice in English with ambition, drive and some leadership experience. Candidates will have a proven track record of delivering successful student outcomes, strong data analysis skills and be an outstanding communicator.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has relevant experience of teaching science in a secondary school
• Is a good teacher who can establish good relationships with, motivate and inspire young people, and who shows the potential and commitment to become and outstanding teacher
• Has good interpersonal skills, the ability to empathise with young people and build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• Is a flexible and perceptive classroom practitioner who can engage students across the age and ability range and enable all to learn, enjoy and make progress
• Has a commitment to personal, professional development and becoming the best you can be.
