Second in Humanities / Lead Teacher of Geography
MPS/UPS £30,000 - £46,525 (+TLR 2a £3,214)
Required Easter 2024
Kinver High School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Second in Humanities to join our ‘warm and welcoming school’ where ‘pupils behave well in lessons’ and ‘are polite and courteous’ (Ofsted Dec 21).
The ideal candidate will share our student-centered values and be an engaging and proactive teacher with a passion for lifelong learning. You must firmly believe and be driven to ensure that every student regardless of starting point, can achieve success, enjoy school, and be engaged with wider school life, to become the best that they can be.
The candidate should be an outstanding classroom practitioner with either the ability and experience to teach through to A-Level, or the desire to one day do so. Kinver High School achieves above national outcomes at KS4 and has an ALPs score of a 2. The successful candidate will build on current developments within the school, Trust and nationally, to continue to improve outcomes and raise aspirations for all students.
The Humanities Department (Geography, History, RE and RSHE) is a successful and high achieving department (2023 P8 Geography +0.18; History +0.26; RE +0.62) which is popular with both students and parents. At KS4 students either select History or Geography as an option, with many choosing to study both and at A-level we offer both Geography and History at Kinver campus.
We are a highly successful and increasingly popular oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school of 670 students, situated in the picturesque village location of Kinver on the western fringe of the West Midlands. The school has undergone rapid growth in recent years due to its popularity, moving form a 4-form entry in Year 7 to 6-form entry. The school operates its own designated school coach transport service, which means that our intake spans 5 local authorities and our parents and students choose to come to us, making Kinver the non-selective ‘selective’ school.
We are sure that once you visit us and meet our students, you’ll find that we are the school for you and your career journey, our CPD through school and in partnership with Invictus is exemplary.
We would strongly encourage you to get in touch and arrange a visit. Visits to the school are welcome prior to application.
We want the very best teachers for our students and look forward finding out if you are that person.
Please contact the Headteacher’s Personal Assistant, Mrs L Chamberlain atlchamberlain@invictus.educationto arrange a visit or request further details.
Closing Date: Monday 19th February, 9am
Interviews: Thursday 22nd February 2024 & Friday 23rd February 2024
