What skills and experience we're looking for

Qualified Teacher Status (or QTS anticipated)

Recent successful experience of working with and/or
teaching learners with special educational needs
within a school setting
- Proven ability to demonstrate excellent classroom practice
- Proven ability in working successfully as part of a staff team
- Evidence of knowing how to evaluate one’s own strengths and weaknesses
- Evidence of effective partnership working with parents and carers
- Knowledge and experience of current good practice and curriculum developments in special and mainstream primary education provision

Programmes of Study can guide curriculum
planning
- Knowledge of child development
- More extensive knowledge of and/or interest in at least one curriculum area
- Knowledge of successful practice in teaching
learners on the autistic spectrum or social,
emotional mental health including the ability to

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Secondary teacher who will be able to work with learners in KS3 and other learners across the school. This is an ideal opportunity for either a Secondary specialist or a teacher experienced in special educational needs who is confident in supporting learners with additional needs. Class sizes are small, up to 8 students in Secondary group with one Learning Support Professionals.

Nightingale Community Academy is a school for boys aged between 5 and 19 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Statement of SEN for social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Some learners also have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or other learning difficulties.
