We welcome applicants with a detailed knowledge of the curriculum and its means of delivery in their subject area
We are very interested in welcoming applicants who are experienced in the following subject areas:
- English
- Design and Technology
- ICT and/or Computer Science
- Maths
As we are a small school, most staff will teach more than one subject. SEN special school experience is not essential. We place a greater emphasis on transferable skills and knowledge.

Northcott School is a special needs school based in Hull. We are an SLCN/ASD school for pupils aged 3 to 19. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced SEN teachers and support staff, to observe and share practice on a regular basis, developing SEN skills linked to ASD and communication. We pride ourselves on having a communication rich environment, which promotes bespoke SEN provision without limitations. Our pupils have the option to study up to GCSE in an appropriate range of subjects according to needs and ability. We offer lots of alternative qualifications in addition, such as BTECs and Functional Skills. We are passionate about positive mental wellbeing throughout the school, and this is at the forefront of our support of pupils, staff and parents. We are committed to staff work-life balance.
