What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you a Science Teacher committed to improving the lives of children and young people?
Do you want to have the autonomy to develop a science curriculum across the school that creates fun, exciting and engaging lessons for children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) challenges?
As the subject lead Science Teacher you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.
This role will be challenging but rewarding, working in a dynamic environment where you can make a real difference with like minded people that genuinely care. A role where you go home with a sense of achievement knowing that you and your team have made a difference every day to the wonderful young people that you teach.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed and flexible, who can easily engage with students that may be reluctant to engage in lessons due to previous life experiences.
If you feel that you have the energy, passion, resilience and drive to be part of making the Bure Park Academy something truly exceptional, we would love to have you on our team.
What the school offers its staff
Our Academies share the vision of the Broad Horizons Trust, that improving the life chances of all pupils has to be at the heart of all we do. To achieve this Broad Horizons firmly believe in valuing and championing all members of staff employed throughout the trust. As part of our team you will have the opportunity to receive high quality, bespoke training for SEND, SEMH and therapeutic interventions.
Further details about the role
We are looking for a teacher to be able to teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 and be subject lead for Science across the school. You will be joining a small Secondary team of five other staff and be instrumental in helping to develop the outstanding Secondary provision. Experience of working with SEMH is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be reflective, innovative and flexible in their approaches to learning as well as being highly skilled in developing trusting relationships with SEMH pupils.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to be part of a highly motivated, exceptional team who strive to establish the highest standards and who are instrumental in ensuring that we change children’s lives.
Bure Park is also a residential provision for pupils between Year 4 and Year 8. The multi-disciplinary team consists of Care Staff, Teachers and TAs who facilitate the school’s twin aims of re-integrating pupils into their home environment and when appropriate mainstream school.
