What we are looking for:
We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work with pupils across the school. The successful candidate will start in this role as soon as possible.
Candidates invited for interview will be highly skilled individuals with experience of working in a school setting with challenging behaviours. Specific training will be provided for the newly appointed candidate. It is very important that you are able to work well as part of a team and on your own. The ability to remain calm and level headed yet think on your feet is essential. In addition, you should ideally have had previous successful experience of working with pupils to help them improve their social skills, resilience and emotional wellbeing over time. A particular focus for this role will be pupil engagement and behaviour.
All successful candidates will:
• Be excellent practitioners with high expectations of all pupils
• Be passionate about child-centred learning
• Have excellent organisational and communication skills and enjoy working in a team
• Preferably have experience of working in two or more key stages
• Be able to make a positive contribution to the ethos of our school
• Have a firm commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities for all
You will have:
• Maths and English GCSE or Equivalent Grade C or above
• A good standard of education across a range of subjects
• Excellent numeracy/literacy skills – equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English & Maths
• Working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes
• Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation
