Come and join our essential ‘Team around the Child’ and be part of the successful ‘Broad Horizons Education Trust’. We have vacancies for SEMH Key Workers at Bure Park Specialist Academy in Great Yarmouth.
Bure Park Specialist Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 7 – 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our students arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team will be responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes academically, socially and behaviourally. The Academy is part of Broad Horizons Education Trust and we share their vision that improving the life chances of all pupils is at the heart of all we do.
We are looking to recruit SEMH Key Workers who will be responsible for the care and leisure time of groups of students under the supervision and the direction of the Senior SEMH Key Worker team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care and control provided to students and training and counselling of students in personal and social competence. The successful candidates will be an advocate for a small group of children supporting both their home and their development in school. You will be required to participate in the sleep in rota where you will stay overnight in the school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to be part of a highly motivated exceptional team who strive to achieve the highest standards and who are instrumental in ensuring that we change children's lives.
The Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme. The successful candidates will be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character. The academy is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.
The successful applicants must be prepared to undergo any further training as requested by the Trust and will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore you will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations.
