What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity to transform the lives of our most vulnerable pupils. We are looking for experts in social emotional and mental health (SEMH) who are able to support pupils who have an SEMH In-School Provision (SEMH ISIP). The goal of the provision is to support pupils with complex SEMH to develop the skills that they require succeed in mainstream lessons. The SEMH ISIP Practitioner will work under the direction of the SEMH ISIP Coordinator to deliver personalised pupil provision including mental health support, speech and language therapy input, and interventions supporting self-regulation.
You will have:
- A Level 4 qualification in a SEND (or related) discipline.
- A minimum of two years’ experience of working with children (either paid or unpaid capacity) in an education setting.
- Experience of positively managing challenging behaviour/restorative practices/self-regulation/de-escalation.
- The ability to maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
- The ability to work effectively within a team.
