SEMH Practitioner job summary
Greasbrough Primary School is dedicated to appointing the best possible candidate for the position of SEMH Practitioner for 30 hours a week. The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and be enthusiastic and motivated to inspire those that they work with, break through the barriers of expectations and harness all opportunities to create a climate of success and achievement for all.
The SEMH Practitioner will want to make a difference. They will be ready for a challenge and will bring a wealth of innovative and outstanding ideas and excellent interpersonal skills to forge strong relationships with colleagues and children in school
The post involves working across all Key Stages
We are looking for someone who:
Promotes and champions the SEMH needs, Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies and procedures of school.
Is an organised person and has good time management skills.
Strong Behaviour Management Skills, with high expectations for all pupils.
Has a calm temperament along with the enthusiasm and energy to work tirelessly supporting pupils
Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
Has a willingness to be fully involved in the life of the school.
Can be a positive, caring team member.
Desired Experience:
- Has experience of working with children with SEND/SEMH difficulties
- Experience of delivering ELSA, Kitbag, Attention Autism, Friendship groups etc.
- Experience of challenging and motivating children, promoting and re-enforcing self-esteem.
- Assisting individual pupils experiencing difficulties in managing their behaviour, SEMH difficulties through 1:1 or group work.
- Experience of managing complex and difficult behaviours and mental health issues
