What skills and experience we're looking for

Lime Hills Academy is a rapidly progressing and expanding special school for students with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties in years 5-11.  Due to our current programme of expansion, we are looking for enthusiastic and young person-centred SEND Teachers.  The successful candidate will act as both pastoral and curriculum keyworker for a small group of young people delivering a range of subject content and skills. We are looking for candidates with a breadth of experience of working with young people, who are enthusiastic, resilient, highly motivated and are passionate about inclusive education.

We have found that teachers from EYFS and primary have been very successful delivering a nurture model to groups of 6-8 students in the KS3 secondary phase and we would positively welcome applications from this phase. We would be very pleased to receive applications from experienced English or Art teachers. However, we will consider all other specialisms.

We have vacancies for teachers in KS2, KS3 and KS4.

What the school offers its staff

About the Academy & Cabot Learning Federation

Lime Hills Academy is a state funded special school for young people in years 5 - 11 who have an EHCP to support their SEMH needs. We will be moving into our new build in Churchill in September 2025. As a temporary arrangement we have been supported by the DfE and CLF to deliver our provision across two sites: a secondary site in Weston and a primary site in Nailsea.

At our core is a belief that every young person deserves the right to an educative experience that prepares them for adulthood and opens doors at Post 16. We do this by providing a targeted core curriculum that focuses in equal parts on literacy, numeracy, and PSHE. The curriculum at Lime Hills is delivered both in and out of the classroom - with outdoor education, enrichment activities, forest school, art and development of emotional literacy and communication.

The Cabot Learning Federation is a diverse Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in the South West. We are proud to serve 18,000+ pupils who all attend ten secondary academies, thirteen primary academies, an all through provision, a studio school, a discrete Post 16 provision, two alternative provision schools and three SEMH special schools.

CLF is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The trust is proud to serve a diverse student population and their communities. We actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.

We are proud to be part of diverse communities in the region and celebrate the richness of cultures, faiths and backgrounds of our students. We aim to develop a curriculum that is responsive to our pupil’s needs and reflects their diverse interests and backgrounds.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
