What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will be motivated by the belief that every young person can achieve their potential. Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN environment is desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. Experience of teaching learners with complex needs or experiential learning would also be of interest.
As a teacher at Mill Green School, you will seek to enhance the learning opportunities for our young people, supporting them in their preparation for adulthood and next steps into continued education, employment or life! You will be delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning in a nurturing, supportive environment. You will constantly strive to produce outstanding teaching and learning to ensure that all learners succeed and will not be afraid to initiate new ideas and take risks in a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring that our learners are able to achieve, be valued and feel secure

What the school offers its staff
Mill Green School is an ‘Outstanding’, maintained community special school, providing education to 117 young people aged 14-19. Due to continued school growth and internal promotion, the Governing Body are seeking to appoint, motivated and resilient Teacher to join our hard working, dynamic and enthusiastic team, who shares in our determination to transform the life chances young people who attend Mill Green. The post is fixed-term until July 2024, in the first instance. As a 0.8 FTE role, the successful candidate will be required to work Tuesday-Friday.
By joining the team, you will have the opportunity to benefit from bespoke training, CPD, networking and professional dialogue days with colleagues and peers both within and outside of Mill Green to ensure that you can reach your potential as a teacher within a specialist setting.
