Do you have experience of working with students with Autism or are you an autism champion in your current role?
Our dedicated and experienced SEN team is looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Autism Specialist to join a well-established department supporting students with additional needs within the classroom environment and through our Socially Thinking intervention programme.
The successful candidate will be able to use their initiative and support students to access learning across the curriculum, using their expertise to support class teachers in the practical organisation of activities and small group work. The Autism Champion will also be responsible for advocating for students with additional needs, supporting a caseload of students on the school’s SEN Register to successfully access enrichment opportunities across the school as part of our wider curriculum offer. Appropriate professional development and training will be given to the successful candidate to enable professional growth with the aim of supporting our students to become successful, independent learners who will reach their potential.
The post is suitable for individuals who currently work within education as a learning support assistant and would like the opportunity to develop their practice across this area of need. We also welcome applicants who have experience supporting autistic learners or adults within the community.
