About Us: Finch Woods Academy caters for primary and secondary-aged pupils who present with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and complex needs. The academy provides personalised care and support to empower every pupil to gain qualifications, develop essential social skills, and build self-confidence for a happy and fulfilling future.
The Governors of Finch Woods Academy are seeking to appoint 2 teachers for the start of the 2025/26 academic year, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Post 1: We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious, energetic and outstanding classroom teacher for our primary/middle school provision. The successful candidate will be both an exceptional teacher and behaviour manager and will be a strong provider of the care and leadership of a form group. The post-holder will work with a very strong, multi-skilled team, led by a phase leader and will be responsible for the classroom team to which they are designated. This is a really exciting opportunity for a teacher at any stage of their career who wishes to join a rapidly developing and improving school, part of a specialist, medium-sized supportive MAT, who wishes to further their career aspirations.
Key requirements: An ability to offer teaching within the expressive arts subjects would be an advantage. ECT's may apply..
Post 2: The second post is that of secondary teacher of mathematics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mathematics to Y9-Y11 pupils in the first instance, however, the post holder must be able to teach national curriculum mathematics to the whole of KS3 and 4, up to GCSE level.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a teacher at any stage of their career who has ambition, is a capable and confident practitioner and who is able to work with a hard working, successful specialist teaching team. The post holder will be joining a rapidly developing and improving specialist school within a successful, supportive medium sized specialist MAT.
