What skills and experience we're looking for
Hayle Academy ARB is an expanding secondary provision providing specialist education for 21 children of mixed age with a range of educational needs. We are seeking to appoint a qualified teacher to teach a class of 10 Key Stage 3 and 4 aged pupils and to join the current ARB Teacher and teaching assistants in our purpose built Area Resource Base.
We aim to recruit an enthusiastic teacher with a genuine passion for working with young people with SEN. This is a diverse role that will see you working alongside the Operational SENDCO and ARB Lead, planning for and teaching pupils across the full secondary age range, but with an understanding of the different levels at which pupil’s access their academic learning.
What the school offers its staff
The ARB is part of Hayle Academy, a successful secondary school in Hayle with 550 students on roll. In its most recent Ofsted (March 2022), the school was judged ‘Good’. Our vision is to inspire our students to dream big, to achieve more.
From September 2023, the ARB has expanded to provide 2 classes with 10 pupils in each. Our purpose built facility was finished in September 2022, to provide a designated learning area for young people with an EHCP. The wonderful range of modern facilities which are well resourced, help teachers create high quality learning experiences. As part of the wider school, you would be part of a large team of professionals with a broad range of experiences to help your own CPD. We have extensive experience of working with young people with special educational needs and support teachers in learning more about how to do this.
As a school, we are fully committed to ensuring that each and every child is effectively prepared for the continuously evolving, digitalised world. Therefore, this is an exciting time to join our school as we embrace the very best digital tools and technologies within our innovative classrooms. All teachers and students are provided with iPads to enhance teaching and learning; full training and support will be provided as part of our induction and CPD programme.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
