2. Work and other Relevant Experience


  • Experience of working and supporting children with Additional Learning /Special Educational Needs

  • Experience in implementing IEP’s and contributing to pupil progress

  • Experience of working as part of a team

  • Supporting pupils in appropriately differentiated learning tasks

  • Knowledge and understanding of Additional Learning and Special Educational Needs

  • Commitment to the process of raising standards and pupil attainment


  • Previous LSA or similar post in a school / specialist setting

  • Experience of working in secondary and primary settings

3. Qualifications


  • NVQ 2 or above

  • Maths / English GCSE
  • Attendance at specialist training courses


  • NVQ 3 or above
  • Maths / English GCSE , Grade C or above
  • STC
  • Team Teach
  • PECS
  • ASD / BESD

4. Knowledge/Skills


  • Good ICT skills

  • Knowledge of National Curriculum/Functional Skills / P Scales Knowledge and understanding of National Curriculum/Functional Skills / P Scales

  • Flexible approach to supporting pupils in their learning

  • Knowledge of Child Protection procedures

  • Understanding of SEN Issues


  • Health and Safety awareness

  • Knowledge of differing teaching & learning styles

  • Willingness to attend training

  • County mini-bus training

  • Numeracy / Literacy hour experience

  • ICT qualification

Working hours: Mon, Wed, Thurs, and Fri 8.30am-3.45pm

and Tues 8.30pm-4.30pm.

We are seeking to appoint outstanding Learning Support practitioners who are compassionate, dynamic and resourceful individuals to join our dedicated and hardworking team of skilful support staff to work across the whole school. A desired element to this role would be experience of supporting young people with Autism and moderate learning needs.
