What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential -
Level 2 qualification in supporting teaching and learning within the classroom (or higher qualification or equivalent such as NNEB)
Level 2 or higher qualification in Maths and English
Very good inter-personal skills;
Clear commitment to safeguarding all children
Clear commitment to the inclusion of all children & families equally
Willingness to work with classes across the whole primary age range
Effective behaviour management strategies
Fully supportive references
Full commitment to the agreed policies and activities of the school
Patient and compassionate
Desirable -
Previous experience of supporting children in the classroom
High quality interaction with unfamiliar pupils during interview day
Good level of personal skills in ICT
First aid qualification
Makaton or sign language experience (for any future deployments)
Experience of the Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (P.A.C.E.) approach

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual who will be passionate about children's learning, development, and welfare. Individuals who can assist in preparing the classroom, support the child with their learning and specialist needs with professionalism. Experience working within education would be desirable, however, the successful candidate will be able evidence their understanding of the role through their application and interview.
You will be joining a three form entry school with an inclusive ethos. We work together to foster children who are compassionate, respectful, happy, tolerant, curious and collaborative as well as academically successful.
We are looking for a candidate who has the ability to:
- Support the inclusive ethos of our school •Work in close partnership with the class teacher •Plan and deliver a range of academic and social interventions •Assist with the setting up and monitoring of targets •Use their initiative and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability •Act upon advice from outside agencies •Be proactive in seeking solutions and promote inclusion
