SEN Manager job summary

We are looking to recruit a SEN Manager. This role is instrumental in assisting the SENDCO in support in school, liaising with external agencies, supporting annual reviews and in management of the team. If you are an experienced SEN specialist committed to fostering an inclusive environment and making a positive impact on students’ lives, please get in touch.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Assist SENDCO in Timetabling and Line Management of Teaching Assistants.
  • Work closely with the SENDCO to ensure a coherent and consistent support offer is available and effectively accessed by learners from first point of contact until the student leaves the school.
  • Assist SENDCO in liaising with parents of pupils with SEND.
  • Assist SENDCO in overseeing the transition process for SEND students from primary school to secondary, including liaison with primary schools, parents, and the local authority to ensure an effective and seamless transition from primary to secondary setting. To also include accompanying parents and students on tours of the school.
  • Assist SENDCO in management and implementation of the Annual Review Process for students with an Educational Health and Care Plan

This means that you would have to be a resilient character who is able to remain positive when dealing with challenging behaviour.
