What skills and experience we're looking for
An exciting and impactful opportunity has arisen to shape the development of our English curriculum at our small 1:1 provision for seven students with complex needs. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and help shape the future success of Pathway’s provision and its children. We are happy to accept applications from candidates with QTS status and especially welcome experience from Primary (UKS2).
We are looking for an applicant who is able to deliver 1:1 English at both Functional Skills and GCSEs levels (training available). Due to the high levels of complex needs, most students will have significant gaps in their education and lessons will require adaptive teaching. The candidate will take a creative approach to teaching students according to their SEND needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximise students’ achievement and ability to develop. All students require an intensive nurturing and therapeutic approach to enable them to access the curriculum.
What the school offers its staff
Line Managed by Pathways Co-ordinator

Our goal is to offer high-quality education, giving students the tools and confidence to succeed despite the challenges they face in traditional educational settings. Our holistic approach ensures that students receive not only academic guidance but also emotional and social support, fostering both personal and educational growth.
Francis Barber is a great place to work with a friendly staff team and fantastic transport links and shops and banks nearby. The school is very mindful of supporting staff wellbeing and there are many opportunities for CPD, mentoring and coaching.
