SEN Specialist to promote Reading and Literacy job summary
Our dedicated and experienced SEN team is looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic SEN Specialist to join a well established department supporting students with additional needs. We seek to appoint an individual who can take a proactive role in supporting the educational, social and physical needs of students at our school. The successful candidate will be able to use their initiative and support teaching and learning across the curriculum, providing assistance to the teacher in the practical organisation of class activities and small group work. The SEN Specialist will also be responsible for advocating for students with additional needs and supporting students on the school’s SEN Register to successfully access enrichment opportunities across the school, as part of our wider curriculum offer.
This would be a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who would like to gain more SEND experience before pursuing a career in teaching and education. The post is also suitable for individuals who currently work within education as a learning support assistant and would like the opportunity to develop their practice across literacy and reading.
Commitment to safeguarding
Cornwall Education Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
