What skills and experience we're looking for

You will be required to work flexibly alongside another SEN TA to take a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social and physical needs of the pupils. We are looking for an experienced, self motivated individual that can work alongside the SENCo, class teacher and other SEN TA to ensure that the pupils are supported to access the curriculum or to plan, deliver and resource an individualised curriculum as appropriate. You will also need to assess, monitor and record the pupils' progress, feeding back to the SENCo and class teacher and be confident to recommend adaptations / amendments to the provision to ensure full engagement of the pupils in learning.

What the school offers its staff

St Just is a wonderful place to live and learn. Our school sits in the middle of our small town and is a key part of the community. We include all aspects of our locality within our learning wherever possible. We are committed to participating in community events such as the annual St Piran’s celebrations, Lafrowda festival and lead celebrations of Christmas and Remembrance at the local parish church and the Methodist Chapel.

We are very proud of our school and aim to work in successful partnership with our pupils, parents and the local community to the benefit of all the children.

With a consistent number on roll of around 190 pupils aged between 4 years and 11 years, we are organised into 7 classes, one class for each year group. Our classes vary in number reflecting the admission of local children to their local school.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
