SEN Teacher job summary
We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, enthusiastic and flexible class teacher to join our team for the academic year 2022-2023.
Our large, special, secondary day school is in an exciting period of change and development and needs individuals with vision and skill to help us to adapt to the needs of an evolving clientele.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, qualified or unqualified, who has a passion for their subjects and the ability to enthuse and encourage our students to become enquiring, independent learners. You will also have excellent pastoral skills and will support your tutor group in thriving, emotionally and academically, in our environment. You will be committed to the concept of every teacher a teacher of reading with sound practice around phonics, guided reading and other universally supportive approaches to developing literacy across the curriculum.
The post is a great opportunity for a candidate who wishes to develop their existing specialist skills in a vibrant, challenging and rewarding context. You will need originality, humour, resilience and an unshakeable commitment to equality for all.
You will need to have a demonstrable track record in and commitment to special education in order to support and promote our school vision. You will be committed to making a difference for students of secondary age, many of whom will still be working at P Levels and Key Stage 1 level.
