SEN Teacher job summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced teacher to take responsibility for the teaching and learning within our ‘Hive’ provision. This is a unique opportunity to join a talented team of teaching and support staff in our endeavour to provide the very best opportunities for all children.
In collaboration with the Local Authority, the school is expanding its capacity to cater for an increasing number of children with complex needs. We already have a very well established and successful internal ‘Hive’ provision, which provides a bespoke learning offer for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan. Our most recent Ofsted inspection (July 2021) recognised, “The help that leaders provide for pupils with SEND is a strength of the school. Knowledgeable and highly trained leaders ensure that pupils get the help they need to achieve.” We were judged as continuing to be a ‘GOOD’ school overall but have ambitions to be even better!
The successful candidate will bring with them the flair, commitment and passion needed in order to provide the best learning opportunities for our most complex children, which will enable them to succeed in a mainstream setting.
The successful candidate will:
-Be a qualified teacher and have experience of working with pupils with additional and complex needs.
-Have a thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum and SEND code of practice.
-Have high expectations of themselves and others.
-Be committed to going above and beyond for our children.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
