What skills and experience we're looking for
These posts would suit both early career and experienced teachers. We are looking to recruit excellent practitioners. You will be required to work full time and have the enthusiasm and resilience to join our successful and supportive team at Doubletrees School, which is situated close to St Austell. The successful applicants will be responsible for planning and delivering excellent personalised learning opportunities to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs all of whom will have Education Health and Care Plan. We are looking for two teachers to join our provision. One successful candidate will initially join a primary aged class and the second will join our Post 14 team. Experience in SEN would be advantageous, please state your curriculum strengths within the application.
This is a wonderful opportunity for talented teachers to develop their teaching within the unique setting of a special multi-academy trust. We find teachers with a background in early years pedagogy transition well into our setting. A positive outlook, a proactive approach, being a team player and having a track record of high-quality teaching and learning are all essential. Primary and/or Post 14 experience will be advantageous – applicants transitioning from mainstream are most welcome however experience within Early Years and Key Stage 1 and knowledge of early reading, writing, phonics and number development are key across all of our classes (2-19 years).
Candidates will be required to demonstrate experience of teaching SEN pupils, working with pupils with ASD, SLD, communication and complex sensory needs and evidence the ability to work effectively within a multi-agency team to improve outcomes for pupils, or have a strong passion and desire to learn in this area.
