What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, inspirational and highly motivated Teacher with experience of working with SEN children to join our friendly, welcoming village school.
This role is initially offered as a fixed term contract until August 2025 but may well be extended further if funding is secured. The standard contract is 32.5 hours per week.
The vacancy is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs
We currently have a vacancy for an SEN teacher to support some of our most vulnerable children in a new provision. The children have complex and multiple learning needs; Autism and social and emotional and mental health needs.
Children currently access a bespoke curriculum and we are now looking for a teacher to enhance our current provision.
Gildersome Primary School secured a ‘Good’ Ofsted in January, 2022 where inspectors commented that leaders have ‘created a friendly school that is warm, welcoming and inclusive’ and ‘pupils with SEN and/or disabilities are well supported.’ Our ethos of ‘Nurture, Aspire, Achieve is woven into our curriculum and we are very proud of our school community where staff are committed to supporting young people to fulfil their potential and prepare them fully for their future, particularly focusing on communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
The successful candidates will have:
- Experience and skills of teaching pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs including Autism
- The ability to offer a range of inspirational teaching, learning, assessment and behaviour management strategies to ensure learning is engaging and inclusive
- High expectations, commitment, and enthusiasm for both the personal and educational development of all pupils
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- An ability to work collaboratively with parents, carers, multi-agency professionals and outside agencies
- The ability to work effectively within a team
- A passion for education and willingness to support staff in enabling all our pupils to reach their potential
- A creative approach to learning
- An understanding of the EYFS curriculum and the ability to resource creative continuous play provision to enhance learning.
