What skills and experience we're looking for
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with special educational needs, both inside and outside the classroom. Your responsibilities will include implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies, collaborating with teachers and professionals, assisting with personal care tasks, and helping learners develop social and emotional skills.
Cann Bridge School is seeking candidates who are eager to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become excellent Teaching Assistants. An appropriate Level 2 qualification is desirable, but we also welcome candidates who are willing to work towards this qualification during their probationary period. We are looking for individuals who are calm, patient, have a good sense of humour, and are committed to their own professional development.

Cann Bridge School is a registered Plymouth City Council Local Authority maintained special school for children and young people aged 3 to 19 years. Located in Estover, Plymouth, learners travel from Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall to learn, with capacity for 108 learners.
The school is designated as one for children and young people with complex needs; with their cognition and learning needs identifying a severe learning difficulty. Most learners have complex communication and interaction needs, including those identified as part of a specific learning difficulties associated with Downs Syndrome, Autistic Spectrum Condition, physical disabilities or a complex medical condition. All learners have an Education, Health and Care Plan.
