We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, to support pupils with a range of SEN needs. You should be child-centred in your approach and be able to demonstrate initiative, a willingness to be flexible and the ability to adapt calmly to ever changing situations.

Main Purpose of the Job:
To support teaching and learning across the school, in and outside of the classroom, working under the supervision of the class teacher, department lead and senior leadership team. To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- To promote every pupil’s inclusion within the life of the school (curricular, social, personal) ensuring their equality of opportunity.
- To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff to implement agreed work programmes.
- To support individual pupils on intervention programmes.
- To assist the teacher in curriculum planning, management & preparation of resources.
- To provide support for teaching staff across the school ensuring an appropriate learning environment.
- To assist with the teaching of pupils; whole class, small groups and individuals as directed.
- To be an integral part of the school, working in close partnership with all staff.
- To care for the general safety and welfare of pupils and their hygiene and personal needs.

Castle Hill High School is a special school for students, aged 11 – 18, with significant and complex needs. We currently have 340 students on roll. Our most recent Ofsted inspection, judged the school to be Outstanding.
