SEN Teaching Assistant job summary
We’re looking for a resilient, determined and proactive individual to join our school. At Nightingale we’re committed to creating opportunities which enable our young people to reach their potential. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented SEN TA to complement and reinforce our teaching and learning offer across the academy. Working in partnership with, and under the direction of our class teachers and senior leaders, you’ll provide support for various curriculum programmes and guide our young people to overcome their barriers to learning. Support may be provided on a whole-class, specific cohort, or one-to-one basis both in and outside of the learning space, sometimes encountering challenging behaviour and a wide range of abilities and needs. These could be specific learning needs, engagement issues and/ or challenges with social, emotional and mental health and will truly mean that no two days are the same. It’s therefore imperative that you possess a high-level of emotional maturity and resilience and can adapt to changing priorities. Of course, you’ll do this whilst capturing the spirit of our vision and values and whilst role modelling exceptional professional behaviours. As a colleague at Nightingale you’ll work within a diverse learning community, delivering an outstanding learning experience for all. A genuine passion for working and making a real difference in the community is essential. So, if you thrive on making a real difference to the lives of children and young people, seeing them develop and achieve their potential, then we’d be delighted to hear from you.
You will understand the importance of communicating with other professionals and also the family of the pupil. You’ll do all this whilst capturing the spirit of our vision and values and whilst role-modelling exceptional professional behaviours.
We are determined to support our colleagues to develop and will incorporate CPD appropriate to the role. This is a fantastic opportunity to be rewarded by supporting the learning of our pupils.
So if you’re an enthusiastic and inspiring individual and have the right skills and personal attributes we would love to hear from you.
