What skills and experience we're looking for

We currently have two vacancies for SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistants, to join our committed and highly professional team, working with children with significant needs.

25 hours per week - 8.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday

31.25 hours per week - 8.30am to 3.15pm Monday to Friday

Term time only / fixed term to July 2024 with possibility of extension

We are looking to appoint a caring team player, with a flexible attitude who is able to respond to the needs of the child. Training will be given and you will be supported by a dedicated SEN team.

Experience of working with children on the Autistic spectrum would be an advantage, though not essential. We have two classes per year group from Reception to Year 6, as well as a Nursery (term time only).

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a sound working knowledge of supporting young children’s learning
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with team members and parents
  • Have previous experience of working with young children
  • Have a good standard of spoken and written English

We are an inclusive and welcoming school set in lovely wooded grounds on the western side of Reading. We have two classes per year group as well as a nursery class.
