SEN Teaching Assistant

Full time to include a mealtime assistant duty

To commence June 2025 - 26.25hrs paid at TA NJC rate £12.85ph and 5hrs paid at MTA NJC rate £12.26ph

This particular role is a fixed term appointment linked to EHCP funding to support pupils with high level of SEND across the school. Predominately in KS2, but could lead to KS1 work also following further EHCP's in progress.

You will need to show initiative, creativity and demonstrate the aptitude to work as part of a successful and growing team to improve the life chances of our pupils and make every child feel ‘special’. We are looking for someone with a strong, sensitive and caring approach to children’s needs, who is able to be an effective communicator and think creatively. You will need to show a high degree of initiative and be solution focussed.

Ideally, you will:

Provide a sensitive and nurturing approach to children’s needs,

Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents;

Have excellent English and Maths skills;

Be willing to work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour;

Be able to use your own initiative when required;

Have experience in a similar role in a school;

Have prior knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs.

You should have literacy and numeracy to GCSE A-C or equivalent.
