SEN Teaching Assistant job summary

The Role: An opportunity has arisen at Marlborough Primary Academy for an enthusiastic, resilient and committed person to encourage, motivate and support a particular child in a Year 4 class. This post is of a temporary nature because it is formally attached to a child with special educational needs and when this child leaves, or no longer requires special provision, the funding is withdrawn and the post will no longer be available.

The Person: We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our successful and hardworking team. We are looking for someone who:
• Is an enthusiastic and hardworking practitioner;
• Has understanding and experience of working with children;
• Has experience and knowledge of working with children with additional needs such as autism or a willingness to learn;
• Has good basic English, Maths and ICT skills;
• Is caring and has confidence working with children;
• Lead 1:1 and has experience of delivering interventions
• An effective communicator who can liaise with parents and external agencies where necessary;
• Can work as part of a team
