SEN Teaching Assistant job summary
We are seeking to appoint a SEN support Teaching Assistant with a keen interest in the education of primary aged children to join our small, vibrant and happy village school in Nunney, near Frome.
We are looking for someone who can:
• Work on a one-to-one basis supporting children with Education Health Care Plans both in and out of the classroom. This will be under the guidance of an experienced Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and external professionals.
• Enthuse and engage and have experience of supporting children across the Key Stages
• Calmly de-escalate situations and support self-regulation.
• Work as a lunchtime play leader to continue to support all children’s social and emotional development.
• Show patience and sensitivity and be committed to ensuring all pupils succeed.
• Demonstrate a love of learning and be driven by self-improvement, use their initiative and be reflective about their working practice.
A sense of humour and willingness to work flexibly is a distinct advantage.
