With large grounds flanked by green belt to the rear, right next to its imposing church and stunning Parish garden, St Anthony’s School and Nursery is conveniently placed on the Farnham Road, one of the main roads into Slough.

Our youngest children benefit from large, outdoor learning environments with canopies designed to protect them from the worst of the weather. There is also a generous, tarmac Key Stage 1 playground and a delightful field with adventure playground equipment at its centre. Taking the pathway alongside this popular area, you will pass our well cultivated vegetable garden, which our flourishing Gardening Club aim to keep well stocked for as much of the year as possible. Just beyond here is our Poly Tunnel, where the children enjoy outdoor learning – no matter how bad the weather. Further down is our woodland area, where all the very youngest pupils enjoy regular learning through ‘Forest School’, putting on their matching wet weather outfits and wellington boots before trooping off on a weekly voyage of discovery!

The playground for Key Stage 2 is large and flanked by green playing fields on all sides. The tarmac area is effectively surrounded by a small maze, circle time area (the children sit on sawn logs), climbing frames and an outdoor classroom which also works well for an audience to be seated whilst watching a performance. There is also a hugely popular zone with imitation grass, where everyone can enjoy sitting on (or jumping from) large tractor tyres, without getting muddy when it’s wet.

Our Year 2/Year 3 Padua block dominates the area approached from the Stafford Road, its thoughtful design ensuring it blends into the trees and other greenery without compromising on the very latest benefits of modern architectural design.

Slightly further towards the rear of the school site, our new Year 6 Lisbon block excites all the children as they look towards their final year with us - it has its very own outside area dominated by a giant chess board and table tennis facilities!

Disabled access across the school is facilitated by all buildings being single storey with minimal steps; where needed, ramps are provided.

Moving on along the flower flanked pathways back towards the front of the school, two areas designed for quiet, spiritual contemplation are in regular use – a small, carefully tended Memorial Garden is the perfect place for the children to remember their lost loved ones; whilst the more central, communal Prayer Garden surrounds a bubbling fountain perfect for peaceful reflection.

Finally, at the very front of the school just next to our well used Music classroom is our Environmental Garden – its large, well-stocked pond and surrounding greenery enhancing science and art lessons whenever possible.
