Essential

  • Experience of working with SEN children with challenging behaviours
  • Experience of working in a primary school
  • Experience of working in an EYFS setting
  • A high standard of basic education in English and Maths
  • A GCSE in English and Maths
  • Additional SEN, teaching or teaching assistant qualifications
  • Completed positive handling training
  • Paediatric first aid
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children and motivate them to learn
  • Ability to communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to respond calmly and constructively when dealing with students with SEN
  • Experience of working in a SEN setting
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to seek advice and assistance to meet a pupil’s needs
  • A willingness to engage in professional development opportunities
  • Ability to provide engaging 1:1 support
  • Ability to use a range of strategies for learning and behaviour

The Headteacher and Trustees of Worth Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Primary/EYFS Teaching Assistant who has high expectations for all pupils to join our hardworking and friendly team.

The position will comprise of 1:1 or small group working with children in the Reception Class (EYFS) who require support regulating their emotions as well as accessing their education in and out of the classroom. Candidates must be flexible, able to use their initiative and possess a good sense of humour for working with young children. Our goal is for every child to reach their potential so we are seeking someone special who will strive to help children to reach their goals regardless of their barriers to learning.

Previous experience of working in a primary school/EYFS setting would be an advantage.
