Beacon Academy is situated in Loughborough, with approximately 395 children on roll including a Moderate Learning Difficulty (MLD) resource unit and a Nursery. Staff and families are working enthusiastically with the new leadership, as it has vision, integrity and rigour. Beacon has a huge potential and a commitment to rapid improvement. This position will be a highly rewarding role with the potential to make a significant and sustained impact on our school and community in which it sits.
As a result of external moves and to strengthen the Leadership team we are looking to appoint an SENCO & Assistant Headteacher who will support the Head of School and lead an area of negotiated specialism within the Academy. We are looking for a proven leader whose own teaching is inspiring with a broad vision for the curriculum and for quality teaching.

You will assist in developing, reviewing and implementing a whole school policy for pupils with special educational needs. You will play a key role in determining the strategic direction of SEN policy and provision. The SENCO qualification or exemption through experience is desirable although we would support a suitable candidate through the SENCO accreditation if required.
