What skills and experience we're looking for

Candidatesshould have:

• Qualified Teacher Status with 5 years or more teaching experience
• The National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination or be working towards this
• Experience of working with children with Special Needs
• Thorough knowledge of the new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Code of Practice
• The ability to lead staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working withSpecial Educational Needschildren
• Skillfulin working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs - SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL, G and T
• The ability to support and overview the work of teaching assistants working with Special Educational Needs children

You will be responsible for the day to day management and strategic development of the Special Educational Needs department.You will implement high quality and effective Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and Inclusion Provision for all pupils.You will also undertake the role of the Classteacher ( hours / days to be discussed).
