We are seeking to appoint an outstanding SENCO who can lead and manage the school's provision for students with additional educational needs and make a wider contribution to whole-school improvement. The DSEN curriculum area is an integral part of our wider support and intervention team. You might be someone who is currently a SENCO, or who aspires to be appointed as one. The Governing Body is willing to fund and support study for the National SENCO Award (or equivalent) if not yet acquired.

King Ethelbert is an 11 – 18, 850 mixed secondary school. We have had a £20 million rebuild through BSF providing the school with excellent facilities throughout including new and refurbished language rooms.

We are federated with a local outstanding grammar school and became an academy in 2011. About King Ethelbert School

King Ethelbert School is an 11 - 18 mixed secondary school in East Kent with approx. 870 students. It has an inspiring ethos and a thoroughly motivated staff team. In January 2009 we formed a hard federation with Dane Court Grammar School, a large selective school five miles away in Broadstairs and in 2011 we became an academy. In 2013 we became part of a local academy trust called the Coastal Academies Trust which is made up of four Thanet high schools and one Primary school. All of these schools operate independently and have unique characteristics but good practice is shared helping to drive forward standards at every level: our mission is to make Thanet the centre for excellent education.
