SENCO job summary
We are inviting applications from innovative excellent teachers with the ability to lead and inspire others in our learning support department. You will have a passion for improving the learning outcomes for all of our SEND students who are supported through the work of this department.
We require a SEN Teacher with a SENCO qualification or working towards this. This SENCO post is for 0.6 fte. The post-holder will work in tandem with another Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).

This post is open to staff with the right experience, who have or are working towards the National award in Special Educational Needs Coordination which would be supported by the school. The SENCO will teach their own lessons and support classes and will lead and manage the delivery of SEND support from other staff. In order to fulfil that responsibility, the SENCO’s activities will include the following:
*Strategic direction and development
*Supporting teaching and learning
*Interpreting student data to support progress
*Teaching
It is the SENCO’s responsibility to ensure that students’ special educational needs are identified, and that resources and support are allocated and maintained to all those individual pupils who may need additional provision to secure their learning progress.
