Salary Range: Leadership point 4-8
Hours: Full time, non-class based with a teaching commitment of 1 day.

Nansen Primary School, an academy within Leigh Trust, is proud to promote a new and exciting opportunity that has arisen at our school. We are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and inspirational SENCO and deputy safeguarding lead who has the passion to work with our children and community.
Nansen Primary School is an improving school and we put the children’s learning at the heart of everything we do. We are a large primary school full of inquisitive and fantastic children.
You will be required to:
lead high-quality SEN provision which enables high-quality teaching, excellent learning outcomes and success for all pupils
Be a deputy DSL and provide all staff with training and support
model effective teaching, coach and train colleagues in effective provision for SEND pupils
keep all aspects of paperwork up to date
contribute to the development of whole-school policy where appropriate
line manage the pastoral team and SEND team
Keep a strategic overview of our specialist enhanced provision hub for children with complex needs.
plan strategically and set clear and manageable goals and targets within your area of responsibility
You will have:
an ability to implement strategies for raising achievement for pupils with SEND
confidence, clarity and decisiveness in making decisions
Role on the SLT
outstanding communication skills with the ability to build trust and confidence with parents and staff
a sound understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and its implications
the ability to support, motivate and challenge colleagues
a drive and determination to succeed
strong time management and personal management skills
the ability to be proactive, flexible and creative in finding solutions
A SEND qualification (For the right candidate we would support you with achieving this qualification)
