This key role is essential in ensuring that children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive an outstanding education, have their needs met, and achieve their full potential.

This is a non-teaching role. You will work closely with academy leaders and staff to develop, implement, and monitor robust strategies for SEND provision across both schools. You will be a key advocate for inclusive education, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and promoting best practice to create a supportive environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and coordination of SEND provision across both academies.
  • Ensure the identification and support for pupils with SEND is effective.
  • Provide leadership in ensuring that all children, regardless of their additional needs, have access to high-quality education.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and legislation.
  • Collaborate with academy leaders to develop and implement improvement plans for SEND provision.
  • Offer guidance and support to staff, ensuring that they have the resources and training needed to meet the needs of SEND pupils.
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including Wakefield Local Authority, parents, carers, and other educational partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of SEND provision and drive continuous improvement across the academies.

What the school offers its staff
