SENCo job summary

The Wythenshawe Catholic Academy Trust wishes to appoint a SENCO, working alongside the existing SENCo you will both have equal level of responsibility, to secure the best possible outcomes for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disability at Saint Paul’s Catholic High School.

The SENCOs will determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school, alongside carrying out their professional duties of a School Teacher. The successful candidates will: 

 • Be someone with drive and enthusiasm who will inspire and motivate our pupils 

• Be highly motivated and creative individuals who are committed to developing pupil potential and raising achievement 

• Have a good understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum 

• Be open to new ideas, committed to working as part of a team and, of course, have a good sense of humour. 

• Be able to adapt and respond appropriately to challenging situations 

• Have strong moral and ethical principles and values. 

• Act with the utmost integrity. 

• Be committed to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school. 

• Committed to safeguarding.
