Are you an inspirational leader who wants to make a difference to the life chances of
young people? Would you like to work in an outstanding, forward thinking over-subscribed
Catholic school? Our culture is one of high expectations and this is underpinned by our
Catholic ethos. Our students are hardworking, respectful and are a joy to teach.
The opportunity to lead the SEN team as SENCo has arisen following the promotion of our
current SENCo. You will be joining a hardworking and dedicated team of Learning
Support Assistants (LSAs), who always put our SEN students first. In addition, we are
blessed to have a full time Deputy SENCo/Intervention Co-ordinator, as well as a part time
SEN admin support.
SEN provision has improved massively in recent years and we are gradually closing the
SEN progress gap. Put simply, the successful candidate will need to rapidly eliminate this
gap by creating an outstanding SEN department, with timely and measurable
interventions, as well as supporting and challenging all staff to ensure our SEN students
make outstanding progress.
If you have a passion to see young people succeed, are motivated and resilient and
support our Catholic ethos, please download an application pack from our website
www.stromeros.co.uk. Please only use the application form included in the pack and
follow the instructions on how to apply which can be found in the introductory letter.
Visits to the school are welcomed, and please get in touch if you would like to discuss the
role with the Headteacher.
The school has a commitment to safeguarding children and all posts are
subject to enhanced DBS clearance, occupational health check and verified
professional references.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work

suitability to work with children
You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
