SENCo job summary

A vacancy for a SENCO has arisen within our all-age Alternative Provision within our Multi Academy Trust. We are seeking a candidate that can bring the knowledge and skills required to meet this rewarding role. Whilst we are an all-age school, it would be preferable for the candidate to be primary trained, or have primary teaching experience.

We are seeking to appoint a SENCO (or Aspiring SENCO) with the experience, and commitment to supporting our students as our SEND leader, to support the children and young people at The Bridge Academy. There are three key priorities for this role:

Fulfil the statutory role of Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. Whilst it is not essential to have the SENCO qualification at application, a willingness to complete is required, as is an eagerness to be in the classroom and modelling good practice.

Support teaching and learning in school, driving SEND adaptations in every day practice, ensuring that quality first teaching is prevalent across all phases.

Support the successful transition of our children from The Bridge Academy to their next step in education, through effective assessment of additional needs and, if appropriate, an EHCP application.
