SENCo job summary
The Coleshill School is seeking an inspirational and highly motivated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to lead and develop our SEND provision and ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher and SEND practitioner to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive practice across the school. We are looking for someone who is passionate about championing the needs of students with SEND, driving high standards of achievement, and supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding provision.
As SENCo, you will:
Lead and manage the school's SEND provision.
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
Work collaboratively with staff, families, external agencies and stakeholders to secure the best outcomes for students.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, implementing effective interventions where required.
Provide strategic leadership and professional development to colleagues on inclusive teaching and learning.
Promote a culture where all students feel valued, supported and able to succeed.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
Is a qualified teacher with successful classroom experience.
Holds, or is willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination (if required).
Has a strong understanding of SEND legislation, guidance and best practice.
Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Has a proven track record of improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
Is committed to inclusion, high expectations and student wellbeing.
