What skills and experience we're looking for
The Phoenix Collegiate seeks to appoint two new SENCOs to share the responsibilities required for the role at the largest secondary school in the West Midlands. We are seeking someone with a commitment to excellence who will take a lead role in ensuring highly effective provision and support to our SEND students.

The successful applicant will:
- Ideally hold the National SENCO award; although prepared to offer training to the right candidate
- Have a detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience of delivery within this framework;
- Have experience of working with young people who hold EHCPs;
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching and learning;
- Have a record of consistently delivering strong GCSE and A Level results across a range of ability levels;
- Have an ability to engage, enthuse and motivate students and staff;
- Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Be able to lead a team of pastoral and classroom support staff;
- Deliver a curriculum that inspires and engages students and provides an aspirational and challenging learning experience;
- Be able to work as part of a team to ensure the achievement of students across the school;
- Be a committed, highly competent, energised, reflective and resilient individual;
- Possess the skills and determination to make a profound difference to the lives of our students by sharing our belief in the highest standards of academic achievement in an inclusive setting
