SENCo job summary
Following the promotion to Deputy Head of the previous SENCo, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a pro-active, organised and self-motivated individual to join a highly successful and oversubscribed mixed secondary school, with a provision for Hearing Impaired students.

You will be passionate about ensuring equality of opportunity for any child with SEND, removing any barriers to progress and wellbeing and ensuring that all students have the support to achieve their dreams. We are already a very successful team and need the right person to come and lead this great group of staff.

SENCO is a key position and involves working closely with students and their families, supporting students in school and working with external agencies.
The successful candidate will be passionate about improving the outcomes for children and will have:
- a strong understanding of secondary special educational needs and the issues which affect our students’ wellbeing
- knowledge and understanding of the barriers faced by SEND students
- excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
- excellent ICT skills
