SEND 1:1 Learning Support Assistant job summary
This role of a 1:1 SEND teaching assistant is a varied role that will require flexibility and a positive and resilient attitude.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated, enthusiastic professionals and a fantastic opportunity for a committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to make a difference to a pupil’s experience of education.
The successful candidate will assist a pupil in overcoming barriers to learning. This role may change within school to support other SEND pupils in school on a 1:1 level or to support classes of pupils within school in a classroom Learning Support Assistant role.
To be considered for the 1:1 Learning Support Assistant position, you will have:
An understanding or sympathetic view towards the Catholic ethos of the school
A passion for teaching and learning and enabling all children to achieve success
The ability to foster excellent professional relationships with children, parents and staff.
Recent experience within a mainstream primary school or specialist provision unit
A genuine desire to become part of a committed and supportive school team
Previous experience of working with SEND pupils
Had experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
Team Teach experience or be willing to complete training
The ability to use your own initiative and act accordingly without having to be directed.

Immaculate Heart Catholic Primary School a Voluntary Academy of St Gregory the Great Multi-Academy Trust is looking to appoint two enthusiastic and creative 1:1 Learning Support Assistants. The school is a 2 form entry school with 450 pupils on role.
