SEND 1:1 Learning Support Assistant job summary

The Governing Body and Head Teacher wish to recruit a SEND 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with children on a 1:1 basis, small groups for intervention and to support the class teacher with teaching and learning within our school. This is a varied role that will require flexibility and a positive and resilient attitude. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated, enthusiastic professionals. This is an opportunity for a committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to make a difference to a pupil’s experience of education. The successful candidate will assist a pupil in overcoming barriers to learning. The successful candidates will: • Support children individually, in groups and across a class • Work with the class teachers in supporting teaching and learning • Inspire and engage children creatively in the learning process • Have a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults. • Be committed to our school and maintaining effective relationships within our school community • Be committed to the happiness, wellbeing self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school • Previous experience of working with SEND pupils • Be willing to participate fully in the life of the school • Preferably be a practising Catholic or willing to support the ethos and practices of our Catholic school
