SEND Administrator job summary

Scope of the job

Works under the direction and supervision of the SENCO

Arranges support in lessons to ensure all students have access to learning and to minimise the effects any barriers may have on this

Support with the arranging of the Annual Reviews of statemented students by liaising with outside professionals, school staff and parents and ensuring associated administration is efficient and effective attending all reviews and conducting some reviews

Has access to confidential information

Job Accountabilities


Assist the Senco with the Co-ordination of all timetables for SEN support staff. Offer support to the Senco to ensure that all students with special needs have adequate assistance in lessons, maintaining continuity of staff in subject areas whenever possible.

Assist the Senco to ensure that cover is distributed effectively during staff or student absence.

Assist the Senco with arranging the Annual Reviews of statemented students by liaising with outside professionals, school staff and parents and ensuring associated administration is efficient and effective. Offer administrative support with the writing of reports.

Assist the Senco with the coordination of the baseline testing programme for student

Assist the Senco with maintaining and updating SEND resources.

Assist the Senco with the creation of learning support groups.

To keep up-to-date information for SEND relating to:-

o Scores (whole school) Education / Academic Data / scores

o NWPU funding (students with statements)

o Census

o Satchel1 / sims

Where required escort students to and from lessons and accompany students on school visits

Provide additional support via TAs for students before or after school and during break times to support their learning

Act in line with the schools accident/incident policy

Perform duties in line with Health & Safety rules and to take remedial action where hazards are identified. Where hazards are serious report to line manager immediately
