SEND Hub teaching assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, hardworking and caring teaching assistant to join our school team from September 2024 for our newly established SEND Hub for up to 8 children with a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder.

The successful candidate will:

  • - Have a good knowledge and understanding of SEND, in particular ASD, and knowledge of how best to support these pupils.

- Be passionate about ensuring that all children can learn to read.

- Be adaptable and able to work under pressure.

- Be open to support and advice.

- Have high expectations of what all pupils can achieve, no matter their starting point.

- Be approachable, kind, compassionate and act in accordance with the Catholic ethos and values of the school (we welcome applications from both Catholic and non-Catholic candidates).

Job description and main responsibilities:

- Working within our ASD SEND Hub and with other professionals in this to support the teaching and learning of the children.

- Working with staff across the school to ensure that the children in the Hub are able to access learning with their peers.

- Deliver appropriate interventions and specified programmes, under the direction of the teacher, in line with the children’s needs and listed provisions.

- Liaising with parent/carers of SEND Hub children as appropriate.

- Support with the preparation of resources for children in the SEND Hub.

- Undertake any reasonable duties outlined by the Headteacher in line with the role.
