SEND Lead job summary
We are looking for a SEND Lead to work with the Inclusion Lead on the strategic direction and development of Special Educational Needs provision in the Academy. In addition, the post holder will also have safeguarding responsibilities.
The successful candidate will:
·
support teaching and learning so that all students with SEN within the
Academy make maximum progress and will liaise with all relevant people,
including outside agencies, in order to ensure that best practice is achieved
and that all vulnerable pupils and pupils with SEN receive optimal assistance.
·
who will have a flexible approach, and knowledge and experience of
working with children with SEN from Reception to Year 6.
·
who is highly resilient, has highly developed interpersonal skills and is
emotionally intelligent.
·
will have extensive knowledge and experience of working with children
with a range of complex needs for example ASC, ADD, ADHD, ODD and attachment
difficulties.
·
will understand and use strategies to support our children and also
model, train and upskill our staff.
·
have a successful proven track record of working with children with a
range of complex needs as there will be an expectation for them to set up and
lead a High Needs Hub at Elm Academy.
·
who are passionate and ambitious with a drive and commitment to improve
the life chances of our young people.
